Chapter 184: New Rules for the Monster Association
Chapter 184: New Rules for the Monster Association
"Absolutely… yes," Shinji replied.
No wonder Mizuki had clung to him in her sleep earlier. It turned out she had this habit. She fought back her shyness and wrapped her arms around him from behind, her cheeks flushing faintly red.
It felt more comfortable than hugging a pillow.
Even though Shinji always looked slim in clothes, he was described as gracefully lean, if you put it nicely, or a bit skinny if you said it bluntly. However, hugging him told a different story. Mizuki could feel his broad frame, the firmness of his muscles, and the complete lack of excess fat.
Meanwhile, Shinji, being held so tightly, could only try to suppress his own urges while attempting to fall asleep. With Mizuki clinging so closely, his back pressed against sensations he definitely wasn't supposed to be feeling.
...
The night passed without incident.
At dawn, Tatsumaki was the first to wake. The moment she opened her eyes, she saw Mizuki lying in bed, still clinging to Shinji. Her reaction was immediate.
"You two?! What is going on?!" Her shout jolted both Shinji and Mizuki awake.
Shinji understood the situation instantly, while Mizuki, still groggy, looked confused. Both sat up, yet Mizuki's arms remained wrapped around him.
"Good morning, Tatsumaki-senpai," Mizuki greeted innocently, still unaware of what had just happened.
"Good morning my foot! Let go already!" Tatsumaki barked.
"Oh, right!" Mizuki snapped out of it and hurriedly released him.
"I can probably guess what happened last night, but that still doesn't justify the two of you clinging together like that, does it?" Tatsumaki asked, hands on her hips, scrutinizing them both.
"This is… my fault. I have a habit of hugging something while sleeping, so it wasn't Shinji-senpai's doing," Mizuki admitted quickly, taking full responsibility.
"…Fine." Tatsumaki let it go, though her displeasure was clear.
...
After that, the three got up, washed, and had breakfast.
"Tatsumaki-senpai seems so at home here. Could it be that you've been living with Shinji-senpai all along?" Mizuki asked curiously, noticing how naturally Tatsumaki moved around his house. Unlike her, who often had to ask Shinji before doing something, Tatsumaki even answered questions on his behalf.
"Of course. I've been dating him for a while now," Tatsumaki said matter-of-factly.
"Eh…? Tatsumaki-senpai and Shinji-senpai are already dating? That fast?" Mizuki exclaimed in shock.
She remembered that just ten days ago, Shinji had denied having a relationship. And now, in less than two weeks, they were officially together.
Even worse, Mizuki wondered if it might have been because she had pushed Shinji back then. Could her reminder have been the trigger? A strange pang of regret tugged at her.
Breakfast was soon ready, no longer for two, but for three.
After they finished, Shinji escorted Mizuki home.
…
Later that day, Shinji decided the timing was right. He convened another full council meeting of the Monster Association.
In the past, absentees had been common, but this time, almost no one was missing. Shinji's authority within the Association had already been firmly established. Anyone who dared skip the meeting now had to consider the consequences of offending him.
"This time I've gathered you here to announce a new rule set by the Association," Shinji said calmly. "From now on, no member of the Monster Association is allowed to take the initiative to harm humans. If anyone objects or wants to leave the Association, you'll have to defeat me first."
The new rule was blunt and domineering. Shinji wasn't here to negotiate with monsters. His reasoning was the only reasoning that mattered.
"What?! We can't take the initiative to harm humans? Then are we even monsters anymore?!"
"This rule is far too domineering! Not only can't we harm humans, we can't even leave the Association…"
"What choice do we have? At most, only the executives would dare resist, right?"
His words immediately stirred a great uproar. Ordering them not to harm humans was naturally something most found unacceptable. After all, the very reason they had joined the Monster Association in the first place was to unite and destroy humanity.
Mosquito Girl and Armored Gorilla were present as well, standing quietly without a word. To them, the complaining monsters were simply idiots who needed a good beating to shut up.
"Gyoro Gyoro, were you lying to us back then?!" a monster shouted.
"People change. I'm no different. Besides, I was human to begin with."
Gyoro Gyoro stopped pretending. His true body, Psykos, stepped out from behind. The puppet body of Gyoro Gyoro collapsed lifelessly to the ground.
When the monsters realized that Gyoro Gyoro had been human all along, shock and fury swept through them. They had been deceived from the very start. Since they didn't know what had actually happened to Psykos, they all assumed she had been manipulating them with the fake face of Gyoro Gyoro from the beginning.
Yes, now that Shinji was in charge, and things were moving way too quickly with his relationships, as a woman, Psykos didn't care much about her identity now.
"Looks like… a battle is inevitable today~," Black Sperm said as he stepped forward. He had his own ambitions and would never accept Shinji's restrictions.
"You're welcome to try," Shinji replied, his gaze sweeping over the Dragon-level cadres. The others beneath Dragon level weren't even worth his attention.
"I won't bully you. Let's make it fair. I'll let you all fight Boros. If you can defeat just one of him, I'll accept it." Shinji gestured to Boros, who was standing beside him, to step back.
"Humph!"
Boros didn't care. Fighting these monsters didn't interest him in the slightest, as their energy was far too weak. Even the few who stood out were nothing more than rabble in his eyes.
The next moment, Shinji dragged the entire Monster Association into his Origin Sphere Space.
Boros, of course, didn't go, and Mosquito Girl and Armored Gorilla weren't opposed, so they stayed behind. The other monsters had no chance to resist. By the time they realized what was happening, they were already inside a completely unfamiliar space.
The faster ones, like Black Sperm and the other executives, were shocked. They had no idea what kind of ability Shinji had just used.
"Welcome to my Origin Sphere Space. This will serve as our battlefield," Shinji said calmly. "Those who want to fight me, step forward. Those who accept the new rule, step back. I won't make things difficult for you."
The monsters exchanged uneasy glances. Under Shinji's pressure, even those who hated the new rule dared not make a sound and quietly retreated. Being restrained was better than being killed outright.
In the end, only a handful of Dragon-level executives, a few Demon-level monsters, and some stubborn Tiger-level ones stayed in place. Not every Dragon-level wanted to risk their life against Shinji. Even Black Sperm, who had previously been brave enough to bark at Boros, this time retreated straight to the back.
That was his greatest strength: patience and knowing when to yield. If necessary, he could play the dog or the fool without hesitation.
