Chapter 347: The Time Tower’s Second Challenge [3], Challenge Clear
Chapter 347: The Time Tower’s Second Challenge [3], Challenge Clear
Leon had been charging his [Dark Crescent Slash] while the monsters were busy dodging his other spells, and so that meant that right as they turned toward him to look at what Leon was doing, it was already too late.
SLASH!
The dark crescent reached one of the speedsters before one of its comrades could help it escape or block the attack.
The attack went clean through its mechanical head and cut its entire body apart, killing it instantly before it could even react.
Ding!
[You have killed "Clock Speedster"]
Vines of Torment!
Leon used his spell once more, the vines erupting from a nearby island to grab him before he fell into the void below.
As for the flag, it was automatically collected upon killing the monster, which was actually pretty nice because it would have been much more tricky to grab otherwise.
Thankfully, Leon’s vines had an extremely high reach and could grab him from a distance, saving him from a terrible fate.
But with that one kill secured, Leon finally had some progress to show for his efforts.
Ding!
[Current Flags Caught: 1/10]
"Nine more to go," Leon smiled confidently as he landed on an island safely, holding the first flag in his hand.
And with a mocking grin, he lifted it high into the air for all the other monsters to look at and see.
Their expressions darkened noticeably, and that meant they wouldn’t be messing around anymore either, because they knew he was a real threat now.
It was perfectly fine for Leon though, because this was only the first part of his plan to kill them all, and he had plenty more tricks up his sleeve.
Afterward, the clock speedsters stopped laughing entirely and instead focused entirely on evasion and defense.
The next three hours were spent with not much progress happening as the monsters stayed far away from him.
After Leon’s initial surprise attack, the monsters were now reactive to everything he did, and they didn’t even allow him to get close before running away to another island.
But even then, Leon didn’t actually seem that stressed about it all, because he had a bigger plan in motion.
Instead of chasing them endlessly, Leon continued his destruction campaign.
Cataclysmic Fireball! Vines of Torment! Blood Beam!
He and his skeletons kept destroying hundreds upon hundreds of islands without any sign of giving up or slowing down.
Every time Leon’s skeletons went too far from him as he advanced too far into the void, he simply summoned them back and ordered them to keep destroying the islands around them.
And so slowly and surely, the number of islands began to shrink dramatically.
Ding!
[Only 30 minutes remain.]
[It seems like your time has almost run out, Celestial.]
"No," Leon grinned as he looked ahead at the shrinking landscape, "I win now."
Because indeed, Leon had reached the literal end of the "void" after all that island destruction.
There were no more islands going forward any longer, they had reached the absolute limit of this dimension.
It was a gamble Leon had taken, expecting there to be a limited amount of islands in this void, and he had been completely right.
And since he destroyed pretty much all of those behind him as he advanced, this meant that the clock speedsters were now stuck with him in a small range of remaining islands.
Of course, there were still around 100 islands left scattered around, but it also meant they had nowhere left to run anymore since the void had ended.
The monsters seemed to realize it too as they noticed they were trapped with nowhere to escape to.
Still, as long as they could endure this for the remaining 30 minutes, they would be able to defeat this player and be rewarded by the [Time Overseer] for their efforts.
Aura began to rise around the nine remaining monsters as their entire bodies creaked and groaned, growing in speed even more than before.
But Leon simply looked at them with a confused expression, almost pitying them.
"No need to boost yourselves or anything like that," he shook his head dismissively, "You lost the moment you allowed me to keep destroying these islands without stopping me."
And so, Leon closed his eyes, and as his power reached its absolute peak, he unleashed his most devastating spell.
OBLIVION METEOR!
It wouldn’t have done anything previously when the islands were spread out, but now, the meteor would be able to hit almost every single island remaining in the void.
Fwoosh! BOOM!
The clock speedsters stared in absolute shock as the giant meteor came rushing toward them from above.
They sought many spots where they could potentially hide from the impact, but alas, it was completely useless.
Their only hope was to head toward where the human was standing, but that would be certain death because he was waiting for them, and his skeletons kept firing fireballs at them to block their path.
One of them tried of course, rushing directly at Leon with incredible speed, but he was ready.
ECLIPSE DANCE!
Without anywhere to go or any way to avoid Leon’s devastating attack, hundreds of crimson and white slashes erupted from Leon’s sword and its body was cut into pieces instantly, allowing him to grab another flag from its remains.
And just like that, the meteor completed its descent.
BOOOOOOM!
The [Oblivion Meteor] collided with every single island except the one Leon was standing on, destroying them all in a massive explosion of power.
Ding!
[You have killed x9 "Clock Speedster"]
[100% Drop Rate has triggered...]
And just like the first time, the nine flags appeared in front of Leon, floating in the air waiting for him to collect them.
Ding!
[You have somehow managed to acquire all ten flags and completed the "Hours" gate.]
[Congratulations, Celestial, step forward and ascend to the top of the "Time Tower".]
In the void, previously filled, now only stood Leon’s islands and a few more in the distance.
He had completely cleaned this place, though it had been for the greater good of his challenge, so he didn’t care.
Fwoosh!
A portal appeared before him, and he didn’t waste time as he entered it, appearing back into the main hub.
