The Demon Emperor was Saint Emperor

Chapter 218: Demon Emperor’s Armor

Chapter 218: Demon Emperor’s Armor

"Demon Emperor, we humbly request your full assistance. Although this request may seem bold, we seven sisters have given all we can. From now on, we are all your wives, so could you earnestly help your wives?"

Lynn’s slightly hesitant words gave Ilya a great sense of hope. Originally, she was worried about being unable to cope, but seeing Lynn’s demeanor, it seemed like he could handle it, albeit at a cost he found somewhat unappealing.

"It’s not that I don’t want to give my all, but disguised as the Demon Emperor in the Demon Realm, I can’t display my peak strength."

Hearing Ilya put her sisters in the position of his wives, Lynn was taken aback.

Indeed, before this, they were still just partners. Although it was somewhat unethical to slack off, since when did one need to talk about ethics with the Demon Race?

However, after the new terms were agreed upon, they were no longer just partners. He could brush off the Seven Great Demon Kings of the Demon Realm, but how could he neglect his seven wives?

Yet his condition was indeed not at its peak. His true peak was the Miracle Saint Emperor form, but that required the blessing of a Light Divine Artifact. Not to mention he couldn’t use it now, even if he could, he couldn’t wear it.

Imagine, the newly appointed Demon Emperor donning the Saint Emperor’s Armor and wielding the Saint Emperor’s Sword against the strong of the Demon Race...

Wouldn’t that be pure self-exposure?

If that time came, he’d be facing not only the Purgatory Demon Race and Yellow Springs Demon Race, but the siege of the entire Five Great Demon Races of the Demon Realm. That might be an even greater challenge than what the Demon Dragon Emperor faced back then.

"Is it that the converted magic power isn’t easy to use?"

Ilya furrowed her beautiful brows and tried to ask.

"No, it’s that the equipment is lacking. We humans are quite dependent on gear."

Lynn had nothing to hide and spoke frankly. That’s how players are; without good gear, their strength is diminished. If they don’t wear any equipment, they might even be overpowered by Demon Race members.

"But... we could only gather that kind of equipment. The Demon Dragon Emperor and our father, the Seven Great Demon Kings, all fell in the Miracle World, and none of their magic armor was brought back."

Ilya had some understanding of the Human Race, but she hadn’t been to battle, let alone fought in the Miracle World, so she didn’t fully get it.

It’s important to know that the Demon Race’s innate strength is formidable. Suitable equipment is just the icing on the cake for them. They mostly use explosive-type magic tools and life-saving Demon Artifacts, and the attributes of their gear aren’t very crucial to their power.

"Damn it! I didn’t even get a single piece. Those were my spoils of war!"

At these words, Lynn let out a wail. In that final battle, he obtained a Saint Emperor’s Armor he couldn’t even use now and nothing else, even though they were all supposed to be his...

Oh, but when you defeat a boss, you can’t explode all its equipment anyway. No worries, then.

Natives have it good; topple a boss, and you can strip it of everything. If players could explode an entire set of equipment plus all the loot from a boss, the game would be a total mess.

"Our father’s equipment was decent, but they were mainly standard gear. The most precious were the inherited Demon Armor. After the Seven Great Demon Kings fell, the inherited Demon Armor returned to the Land of Origin. When a new king ascends, it’s re-bestowed by the Guardian Demon God. However, the Demon Emperor’s armor is entirely privately bound; when a Demon Emperor dies, it’s bound to their body. Whoever captures it can’t use it either."

Ilya explained to Lynn that what he lost in "spoils of war" was nothing significant—just the seven sets of standard Demon Armor created by top Demon Realm craftsmen and not even usable bound equipment.

"You guys have been in power for a while; you surely have the inherited Demon Armor, right? Could you put together a set for me?"

Upon hearing that the Demon Dragon Emperor’s full Demon Armor was bound, Lynn instantly lost interest. But the inherited Demon Armor of the Seven Great Demon Kings sounded appealing—better than the mismatched set she and her sisters cobbled together for him, at least.

"Uh... well, because the seven of us are sisters, this generation’s entire set of inherited Demon Armor is all female designs. If you need it..."

"I don’t need it! Not at all!"

Ilya’s hesitant words were promptly cut off by Lynn, who replied righteously. Are you kidding? Who’s going to wear women’s clothing!

You couldn’t pay me to touch that stuff, not even with a bonus!

"Ah, I knew it... What a pity that the Guardian Demon God’s Guardian Demon Emperor Set is for mages, and you, Demon Emperor, are a warrior. Otherwise, wearing that set would definitely let you fully exert your strength."

Ilya couldn’t help but feel a bit regretful because the Guardian Demon God is the supreme in magic, so the Demon Emperor’s set provided by the Guardian Demon God is naturally for spellcasting professions. Meanwhile, the Destruction Demon God is supreme in martial skills, and the Destruction Demon Emperor Set given by the Destruction Demon God is for the warrior profession.

The Late Emperor Demon Dragon Emperor’s Destruction Demon Emperor Set was lost in the Miracle World, and no one knows where it is now. But even if it were collected, it would be useless, as it’s bound to the original magic and can’t be used by anyone other than the Demon Dragon Emperor himself.

"Mage gear... show me. What if its attributes are better than this set you gave me? Then it’s not entirely unusable."

In many games, class equipment isn’t restricted to specific classes, and "Miracle" is one such high-freedom game. Equipment doesn’t have class restrictions; it’s all about freely mixing and matching.

However, because each class has different primary attributes, wearing the wrong gear is like assigning stats incorrectly, generally not working well.

For instance, a warrior’s primary attribute is Strength, while a mage’s is Intelligence.

A Level 10 warrior’s gear adds 5 points of Strength, providing some boost, while a Level 100 mage’s gear adds 100 points of Intelligence. While the attributes seem 20 times better than Level 10 gear, the Level 100 mage gear is less effective for a warrior than the Level 10 gear with just 5 points in Strength.

But...

You can’t dismiss cross-class gear because, besides primary attributes, there are secondary attributes.

For example, clothing’s defense and magic defense, accessories’ agility, life value, and mana, weapons’ accuracy and attack speed, shoes’ physical strength and movement speed, etc.

If a set of armor has strong enough secondary attributes, it’s usable, especially in Lynn’s situation.

He’s not lacking in damage output; his damage overflows against anyone. So it’s okay if the primary attribute is lacking, as long as it protects him from too much harm—that would be crucial.
